Robert Clayburgh, M.D.

 

Dr. Robert Clayburgh has been a practicing physician in the area since 1983. He attended the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and commenced his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Mayo Clinic. After completing a hand surgery fellowship, Dr. Clayburgh began practice in Grand Forks. He is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery with an added certificate for Surgery of the Hand.
 

Dr. Clayburgh is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, Clinical Orthopaedic Society, Mid-America Orthopaedic Association and the North Dakota Medical Association. He has served as Chief of Staff for Altru Hospital and on the Board of Councilors for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In addition, Dr. Clayburgh is an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine.

 
 

Joff G. Thompson, M.D.

Dr. Joff Thompson joined Valley Bone & Joint Clinic after completing an orthopedic fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at the Minneapolis Sports Medicine Center where he worked with the team physicians for the Minnesota Vikings, Twins, Wild, Timberwolves and Lynx, as well as the University of Minnesota.

 

A Grand Forks, North Dakota, native, Dr. Thompson received his doctorate of medicine from the Duke University School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, AAOS and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Thompson specializes in knee and shoulder surgery, sports medicine and adult reconstruction.

 

Dr. David Schall

Dr. David Schall joined Valley Bone & Joint Clinic after completing an orthopedic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. A native of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Dr. Schall graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine with highest honors. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Here at Valley Bone & Joint Clinic, Dr. Schall specializes in adult reconstruction, as well as providing general orthopedic and fracture care.

 

Dr. Edward Adams

Dr. Edward Adams has been in practice for more than 30 years. He specializes in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery. Originally from Grand Forks, he attended the University of North Dakota, then completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Minnesota and an orthopedic fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

 

Dr. Michael Kruger

Dr. Michael Kruger specializes in sports medicine and is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of non-operative orthopedic injuries in adults and children related to both sports and industrial activities. Elements of his practice include management of fractures, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and concussions, along with performance of pre-operative and pre-participation physicals.

 

Dr. Kruger has worked with the University of North Dakota men’s hockey and football teams, as well as the Red River and Central High School boys’ football and hockey teams. A Langdon, North Dakota, native, he earned his doctorate of medicine from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and completed his residency at Grand Forks Family Medicine in Grand Forks, North Dakota. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine in both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. Dr. Kruger also completed a sports medicine fellowship at Hennepin County Primary Care in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

 

Dr. Darin Leetun

Dr. Darin T. Leetun is a restorative, regenerative, and anti-aging shoulder and knee specialist and orthopedic surgeon.  He established a Shoulder Center of Excellence upon joining Valley Bone & Joint Clinic. A North Dakota native with over 20 years of orthopedic experience, Dr. Leetun has a doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He completed orthopedic fellowships in Shoulder and Elbow at Perth Hand and Upper Extremity in Perth, Western Australia; Sports Medicine at Kentucky Sports Medicine in Lexington, Kentucky; and Sports Medicine at Perth Orthopedic and Sports Medicine in Perth, Western Australia. He is a member of the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine and the American Association of Anti-Aging Medicine. Dr. Leetun works as a team physician for USA Hockey as well as US Ski and Snowboard team. While in Australia, he participated in the care of Australian Rules football and Cricket athletes.  

 

Dr. John Eickman

Dr. John Eickman is an experienced neurosurgeon specializing in surgery of the spine and brain. A native of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Dr. Eickman graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences and spent six years as a resident at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, including a year as chief resident. He is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons and the North American Spine Society.

Dr. Yashraj Chauhan

Dr. Yashraj Chauhan specializes in all aspects of foot and ankle care with a special interest in complex reconstructive procedures. Dr. Chauhan received a degree in neuroscience from the University of Michigan and his doctorate degree in podiatric medicine from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago. He completed his surgical residency at Detroit Medical Center and also completed a fellowship in adult and pediatric foot and ankle reconstruction, total ankle replacement and complex foot and ankle trauma with Premier Orthopedics in Pennsylvania.

 

Dr. Vinita Parikh

Dr. Vinita Parikh is an experienced anesthesiologist and interventional pain management specialist. Her expertise in anesthesia and interventional pain allows Valley Bone & Joint Clinic to provide patients with effective treatment options to increase functionality and comfort throughout their daily lives. A Grand Forks native, Dr. Parikh graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. She is a member of the American Board of Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine Board Subspecialty. Dr. Parikh completed her residency at the Loyola University Medical center in Maywood, Illinois, and has also completed a fellowship in interventional pain medicine through the Cornell Tri-Institutional program in New York City (where she was named Fellow of the Year).

 
 

Katherine Carson, FNP-C

Carson earned her nursing degree from the University of North Dakota and her Masters of Science in Nursing from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the North Dakota Nurse Practitioners Association.

 

Alys Seay, PA-C

Seay earned undergraduate degrees in Spanish and Pre-Medical Studies at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks and her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the North Dakota Academy of Physician Assistants.

 

McKenzie Brown, FNP-C

Brown is a Grand Forks native, earning both her baccalaureate nursing degree and her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of North Dakota. She works alongside Dr. John Eickman, specializing in neurosurgical management of the spine and brain.  She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the North Dakota Nurse Practitioners Association.
